The 2026 Ashtabula County Local Food Guide (now in its 9th edition) is a community resource for finding and supporting local food in Ashtabula County. This year’s edition includes several newly listed farms, a new local poultry processing option in Conneaut, and an expanded section highlighting restaurants sourcing locally.

Ohio State University Extension Ashtabula County is the local county office of OSU Extension, bringing research-based education and Ohio State resources to Ashtabula County residents. Featured county programs include but are not limited to 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Community Development, and Master Gardener Volunteers.

Since 1934, the Ohio Farmers Union championed working families and local economies, especially after the 2008 Financial Crisis and Great Recession. The Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga Counties Farmers’ Union works to sustain economically viable family farms, sustainable agriculture and fair trade. These farmers advocate for fair prices, local food production and access, and food sovereignty.

National Family Farm Coalition

National Family Farm Coalition was founded in 1986, at the height of the 1980s farm crisis, to be a voice for farmers in Washington, DC. Through 30 member groups, they represent in 42 states. Their members (including the Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga Counties Farmers’ Union) are fighting for farmer rights, fair prices, clean air and water, strong local economies, the right to sell and buy locally-grown and -processed food, the right to be free from corporate domination, the right to live in vibrant and healthy rural communities, and much more.
